Birth or postpartum preparation sessions are hourly sessions that are tailored to your needs and desires. These are great if you are seeking support or education from a doula outside of the birth setting. Support folks are welcome.
Sessions are customizable and can include:
Education for labor support
Pain management and comfort measure techniques
Understanding movement in labor (with or without an epidural) - I highly recommend having at least a basic understanding of this if planning for a vaginal birth
Discussing options during labor and birth
Developing birth preferences (a “birth plan”)
Understanding (and options for) inductions
Postpartum recovery and plans
Scheduled cesarean prep and recovery
Reviewing past birth experiences to prepare differently for subsequent ones
Preparation checklists (birth bag, postpartum, etc.)
Access to my client portal
Specific resources (local + virtual)
…and much more.
Investment: Please contact me.*
*These fees (up to two prenatal sessions and one postpartum session) will go toward your full birth package if you choose to hire me as your doula.

Comprehensive, private birth education spanning from the end of pregnancy through the fourth trimester. Taking a birth class independent from a hospital leads to a more informed and empowering birth experience. It is a separate, though complementary, service to doula support. These classes can be tailored to your needs, including to your anticipated birth location (hospital, birth center, home).
The classes cover:
End of pregnancy
The stages of labor
Optimizing movement in labor
Birth place expectations
Understanding options and decision-making
Comfort measures and pain management
Partner support
Hormones in labor
Common interventions
Cesareans (planned/unplanned)
Newborn procedures
Immediate postpartum preparation
… and customized elements based on your needs.

We learned more from Lisa in an hour than we did through the full multi-week hospital birth prep courses or even labor and delivery itself with our first child.

Lisa had unwavering respect and support for my birthing decisions. She never imposed her own beliefs or preferences, but rather, she provided unbiased guidance. Her non-judgmental approach and respect for my autonomy created a safe space for me to express my desires and make empowered decisions about my birth experience.

I've told so many people: "I just can't imagine what our birth experience would have been like if Lisa hadn't been there!" If and when we decide to have another child, Lisa will be one of our first calls!
